This project is an AR monument that commemorates Inez Burns, a controversial abortionist in San Francisco who defied legal authorities to provide essential reproductive care to women. Users will experience an AR journey near the site of Inez’s former clinic to uncover her hidden story.
This story highlights the conflict between women’s autonomy and a legal system that strips them of that control. The monument addresses the human concept of women's reproductive rights, revealing the systemic oppression faced by those seeking care. It celebrates Inez’s bold defiance in the face of systemic injustice, presenting her as a champion for women's rights.
